ABOUT

ABOUT Regenerative Textiles Scotland

Scotland is home to a vibrant textile sector, from smaller local endeavours to internationally acclaimed production houses. Challenged by stark evidence of environmental damage, the same producers are seeking alternative ways forward.

Design is regenerative when its method and outcomes enhance the planet. Rather than standing apart from nature, regenerative design sets us within the interdependent natural whole. This major shift in design culture has already taken root. Textile design and production within Scotland is part of this regenerative change, using local and natural fibres and dyes, reducing consumption of water and energy, and creating zero waste.

Regenerative Textiles Scotland supports and enables the new textile economy with an annual symposium and exhibition, exploring and celebrating moves into textile production that enhances the planet. Regenerative Textiles Scotland is joining a growing endeavour across the country and beyond and offering a new focus for debate, collaboration and change.
